We are family owned and operated small business, serving northern Colorado for over 60 years! Our Windsor Bakehouse serves 6 locations across the front range. We serve two brands, the Colorado Cherry Company and Legacy Pie Co.
About the Role
We're investing in our commissary bakehouse — and we're looking for a hands-on production leader to run it. This is the operational engine room for a growing, multi-location food business: a dedicated production facility with real equipment, real systems, and real output that keeps three retail locations stocked every single day.
We're bringing in two major pieces of new equipment — a dough portioner and a dough press — to modernize how we produce at scale. We need someone who gets excited about that: who wants to run equipment well, dial in a process, and build a production floor that runs on standards instead of guesswork.
If you come from food manufacturing, high-volume bakery production, or commissary/commercial kitchen operations — and you care about quality control, cleanliness, and building a production schedule that actually works — we want to talk to you.
What You'll Own
Equipment & Production Systems
- Run and maintain ourquipment as the backbone of daily production
- Build and refine standard operating procedures for equipment use, changeovers, and troubleshooting
- Drive continuous improvement in production efficiency, output consistency, and equipment uptime
Quality Control
- Enforce strict recipe adherence and product specs across every batch
- Own quality checks from raw ingredient to finished product
- Set and uphold the quality bar that our three retail locations depend on
Cleanliness & Food Safety
- Maintain a warehouse and production floor that runs clean, organized, and audit-ready at all times
- Build and enforce sanitation schedules and food safety protocols
- Lead by example on cleanliness standards for the whole production team
Production Planning
- Build a production schedule that's attainable, adjustable, and keeps pace with demand across locations
- Run weekly inventory counts and manage ordering for the commissary
- Coordinate transfer schedules to retail locations so shelves are never empty
- Plan and execute large catering orders and seasonal/holiday production surges
Team Leadership
- Hire, train, and lead a production team that takes pride in the work
- Build a culture of accountability, consistency, and ownership on the floor
- Manage schedules, coach performance, and develop your team's skills on the equipment
What We're Looking For
- Experience in food manufacturing, commissary operations, high-volume bakery/food production, or a similar commercial kitchen environment
- Comfort operating and maintaining production equipment — prior experience with portioning, forming, or similar machinery is a strong plus
- A quality-first mindset with genuine attention to detail
- Proven ability to lead and develop a team in a fast-paced production environment
- Strong organizational skills — you can build a schedule and a process, not just follow one
- Availability for a 45+ hour week with flexibility during peak production periods
Compensation & Benefits
- $58,000 base salary, paid biweekly
- Bonus potential: up to $3,000 - $6,000 annually,
- $2,000 relocation stipend available
- 14 days PTO per year (accrued biweekly), usable after 30 days
- Benefits eligibility effective immediately
