The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation is hiring a Maintenance Assistant for the Crown Point Maintenance Center in Crown Point, New York.
Minimum Requirements
- Two years of experience in maintenance or mechanical work under the supervision of a skilled trades worker or completion of an appropriate two-year technical school course.
- Must have and maintain a valid motor vehicle operators license, CDL is preffered.
Duties
- May be required to operate dump trucks, tractor trailer trucks, heavy equipment, if your license class is appropriate for that type of vehicle.
- May be assigned to a crew to cut hazardous trees. Experience operating a chainsaw and chipper is preferred.
- May be assigned to do general landscaping at boat launches and campgrounds.
- May be assigned to do road repair.
- May not be assigned to the same job location each day. Should expect to be assigned anywhere in the working circle during work days.
- Must have dependable transportation and be able to work assigned shifts. Must be punctual, reporting for work on time.
- Must be well groomed, wear appropriate attire, including work shoes, no sneakers.
