Jordan Valley Water Conservancy District is seeking a dependable and skilled Inspector/Locator II to support the protection, inspection, documentation, and locating of District pipelines and related infrastructure.
This position plays an important role in maintaining the safety and reliability of the District's water system by inspecting construction activity near District facilities, fulfilling Blue Stakes line-location requests, documenting easements and rights-of-way, collecting GPS data for GIS mapping, and assisting Engineering staff with pipeline replacement and related construction projects.
The Inspector/Locator II will:

Use GPS equipment to survey District facilities, structures, and pipelines for GIS mapping.

Locate and mark District pipelines, facilities, and utilities in response to Blue Stakes requests.

Inspect and document new construction, utility crossings, pipeline replacements, and excavation work near District pipelines and facilities.

Work with contractors, utility owners, engineers, property owners, and District staff to coordinate work and resolve installation or construction issues.

Assist with construction management on pipeline replacement and pipeline-related projects.

Monitor and protect District easements and rights-of-way, including identifying and communicating encroachments or threats to District infrastructure.

Assist with pipeline shutdowns, flushing, pressure testing, chlorination, bacteriological testing, and coating repairs.

Maintain assigned District vehicle, line locator, tools, and equipment.
Qualified candidates must have:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Some post-high school vocational study in construction trades.

At least three years of job-related experience.

Valid Utah Driver's License.

Utah Grade IV Water Distribution Operator certification.

Utah Department of Transportation flagging certification.

Forklift certification.
This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week. The standard schedule is either Monday-Thursday or Tuesday-Friday, from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., as assigned.
This position is required to participate in a rotating 24-hour emergency standby response schedule. When on standby, the employee must be able to respond to work within 30 minutes. Occasional overtime, after-hours, holiday, and weekend work is required.
