Full-Time, FLSA Non-exempt position Salary: $71,783 - $107,674 annually

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Two (2) years’ experience at the Engineers rank in a full-time capacity
- Must possess a valid Arizona Driver’s License
- Arizona Firefighter I and II Certification
- Arizona EMT Certification or NREMT Certification required.
Must successfully complete a criminal background check and pre-employment drug
screening.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides assistance with managing Fire Department operations including fire suppression,
prevention, EMS response, and public education and inspection programs. Coordinates the
organization, staffing and operational activities of Fire Department personnel and emergency
vehicles. Serves as Operational Manager in absence of Fire Chief. Participates in the
development and implementation of departmental goals, objectives, priorities, policies and
procedures. Monitors and makes recommendations to improve service delivery methods and
procedures; assists with implementing improvement processes. Supervises and monitors the
performance of assigned personnel; provides and/or coordinates the delivery of staff training.
Directs, coordinates and reviews the work plan for assigned fire suppression and EMS
activities; assigns work activities and projects; monitors work flow. Responds to emergency
calls and assumes control as required. Performs a variety of firefighting and EMS response
duties. Assists in ensuring the protection of life, property and the environment. Maintains
records and prepares reports regarding daily operations, incidents, hydrant conditions, and
training operations. Conducts continuous training in fire suppression; drills and instructs
personnel in the use of hoses, nozzles, ladders and other firefighting equipment. Assists in
identifying departmental resource requirements.
