JOB NATURE OF WORK Under limited supervision, performs professional specialized nursing care of considerable difficulty in public health programs in the field and office. This position has department specific responsibility.
EXAMPLES OF WORK(Illustrative Only) Coordinates and maintains advanced nursing services; coordinates the administration of prescribed treatment; coordinates programs for the prevention and control of communicable diseases; assesses community health conditions and needs; develops and implements client care plans; refers clients to community resources for care, information and specialty treatments; responds to emergency situations and provides referral sources and information; works cooperatively with other emergency personnel to assist the client; maintains case records; produces reports regarding client conditions, progress, referrals made and Public Health issues; may conduct educational programs for community outreach regarding health prevention and good health practices; may supervise health aide staff; regular and reliable attendance is required; performs other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATIONBachelors Degree in Nursing; AND nurse practitioner training and one - two (1 - 2) years of experience in public health nursing; must possess a current State of Arizona license as a nurse practitioner and a valid driver's license; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
