Job Summary:
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Shipping & Receiving Specialist to join a growing warehouse and distribution team in Otsego, MN. This position plays an important role in ensuring the accurate and efficient movement of products throughout the warehouse by managing incoming and outgoing shipments, maintaining inventory accuracy, and supporting daily warehouse operations. The ideal candidate is organized, reliable, and committed to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, package, and process outgoing shipments according to order requirements.
- Verify orders for accuracy prior to shipment.
- Label packages and complete required shipping documentation.
- Ensure outgoing shipments are processed accurately and on schedule.
- Receive and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy, quality, and potential damage.
- Unload incoming materials and place inventory in designated warehouse locations.
- Verify received quantities against packing slips, purchase orders, and other documentation.
- Maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing inventory transactions.
- Assist with inventory tracking, organization, and cycle counts.
- Utilize RF scanners and warehouse management systems to update inventory records.
- Maintain proper storage locations and support overall inventory accuracy.
- Assist with loading, unloading, and general material handling activities.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow all company safety procedures and warehouse guidelines.
- Support overall warehouse workflow and operational efficiency.
- Perform additional warehouse and distribution duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Previous shipping, receiving, warehouse, or distribution experience preferred.
- Experience in using RF scanners or warehouse management systems preferred.
- Forklifting or material handling equipment experience is a plus.
- Previous inventory control or cycle counting experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
- Dependable, safety-conscious, and team-oriented.
Working Conditions:
- Warehouse and distribution environment with exposure to inventory, warehouse equipment, and moving materials.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and repetitive movement throughout the workday.
- Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of materials.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
- Regular interaction with warehouse employees, drivers, and inventory personnel.
- Must be able to safely work around warehouse and material handling equipment.
- Fast-paced environment requires attention to shipping and receiving deadlines.
