MECHANIC HELPER – GARBAGE TRUCK FLEET
We need a dependable Mechanic Helper to assist with the maintenance and repair of our trucks and other company vehicles.
Responsibilities:
- Change and repair truck tires
- Perform basic oil and filter changes
- Lubricate trucks and equipment
- Check and refill fluids
- Inspect brakes, lights, hoses, belts, and other basic components
- Assist with hydraulic systems, including hoses, fittings, cylinders, and leak repairs
- Help diagnose mechanical problems under the direction of the lead mechanic
- Perform basic shop and preventative maintenance
- Keep the shop, tools, and work areas clean and organized
- Pick up parts or assist with roadside repairs when needed
- Follow all company safety procedures
Qualifications:
- Basic mechanical knowledge and experience working with trucks or heavy equipment
- Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, jacks, and shop equipment
- Experience changing large truck tires
- Basic understanding of diesel engines and hydraulic systems is preferred
- Ability to lift heavy parts and work on your feet
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Dependable, hardworking, and willing to learn
- Clean Driver License NEEDED
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
