Position Overview:
We are seeking a Texas-licensed psychiatrist to serve as a collaborating physician for a psychiatric nurse practitioner. This is a remote, part-time collaboration role with a focus on clinical oversight, compliance, and case consultation rather than direct patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a collaborative agreement in accordance with Texas Medical Board regulations
- Provide delegation of prescriptive authority, including Schedule II–V medications, for adult patients in Texas
- Conduct monthly 10% chart reviews to ensure quality and compliance
- Be available for monthly meetings to review complex cases and provide clinical guidance
- Offer support as needed for clinical questions or escalations
Requirements
- MD or DO with board certification in Psychiatry
- Active, unrestricted Texas medical license
- Current DEA license with Schedule II–V authority
- Experience collaborating with nurse practitioners (preferred)
- Strong understanding of outpatient psychiatric care and telehealth
- Professional, reliable, and communicative with a collaborative mindset
