Job Summary:
This position is responsible for transporting parts and components to various work areas, operating a grinder and/or sander to remove slag from parts and components, general housekeeping, etc.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Operates a forklift to transport parts and components to various work areas.
- Operates a grinder and/or sander to remove slag from steel parts and components.
- General housekeeping duties which includes sweeping shop floors, emptying garbage and chips, etc.
- Ensuring manufacturing equipment and areas are clean, organized and free of debris.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Positive, team-oriented attitude.
- Blueprint reading skills and ability to read a tape measure.
- Proficient in shop mathematics and layout techniques.
- Basic written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of hand tools such as sanders.
- Attention to detail.
- Works well with others.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Prior experience in manufacturing environment preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods standing.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at a time.
- Travel as necessary.
