Job Overview
The Career Specialist 1 serves as the bridge between the hiring employers and job seekers. The position works as part of a team to coach job seekers on all aspects of job search and to assist individuals in building their personal and job skills throughout the time that a job seeker works with Tri-Parish Works. All Career Specialists utilize professional judgement to determine program eligibility, provide career counseling, intensive job readiness, job search and placement assistance, as well as case management, process training requests, and follow-up services. They will also process training invoices, progress reports, and maintain comprehensive spreadsheets in a timely manner.
Job Duties
Recruit and refer qualified job seekers to appropriate job vacancies
Process eligibility of candidates
Preparing job seekers for employer contact and interviews
Assisting job seekers with resume and job search plan
Working with individuals to explore training and skill building opportunities, including potential enrollment into training programs
Maintaining follow-up contact with participants to ensure successful outcomes
Case management and case noting of participant activities

Skills
- Strong computer skills with experience in databases & MS Office
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data entry, analysis, and creating reports
- Excellent organizational skills for managing multiple tasks efficiently and accurately
- Bachelor's Degree or Associate's Degree preferred, but not required
- 6 months experience in workforce development related work highly preferred
- Experience providing work readiness advisement preferred
- Excellent professional verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated customer service skills
- Effective communication skills for documenting information clearly and transcribing records accurately
Pay: $33,000.00 - $42,000.00 per year
