We are looking for an experienced Direct Support Professional. The ideal candidate must possess a strong work ethic, is a team-player, a hard-worker, and is punctual, reliable, and respectful. APD (Agency for Persons with Disabilities) certifications are required.
Duties:
- Provide direct care and support to individuals with disabilities in a group home care setting.
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of residents by following established protocols and procedures.
- Administer medication according to prescribed schedules, and document accurately.
- Assist with meal preparation and ensure dietary needs are met.
- Support individuals in participating in social activities and community outings, including transportation.
- Maintain accurate records of daily activities and resident progress.
- Advocate for resident rights and ensure their dignity and privacy are respected.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including social workers, healthcare professionals, and family members.
Experience:
- Previous experience working in a direct support role or similar position is preferred.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and ability to maintain confidentiality of resident information.
- Familiarity with group home systems and procedures.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and team members.
- Compassionate nature and genuine desire to provide quality care to individuals with disabilities.
