Director, Legislative Policy & Government Affairs

A well-established professional organization is seeking an experienced leader to oversee public policy initiatives, government relations, and advocacy efforts. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with organizational leadership, engage with public officials, and influence issues affecting members across the state. Director, Legislative Policy & Government Affairs Job Responsibilities:

Develop and execute advocacy and public policy strategies.
Track legislative and regulatory developments and evaluate their impact.
Build productive relationships with elected officials, community partners, and industry stakeholders.
Prepare policy updates, presentations, reports, and other communications.
Advise leadership on legislative and regulatory matters.
Represent the organization at meetings, public events, and professional conferences.
Support strategic initiatives through research, collaboration, and outreach.

Qualifications:

Director, Legislative Policy & Government Affairs Job Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree preferred.
Three or more years of experience in government affairs, public policy, association management, public administration, or a related field.
Ability to obtain Kansas lobbyist registration.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong analytical, organizational, and relationship-building abilities.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
