The Radiology Technologist (RT) works with Medical Providers and/or a Medical Assistants with the examination and treatment of Pelican Urgent Care patients. This role is responsible for performing patient x-rays and reporting results to Medical Providers. Additional responsibilities include providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of Pelican Urgent Care. In a collaborative manner, the Radiologic Technologist will provide support to Medical Providers, Medical Assistants and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization and communication.

Requirements:
- Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology program required.
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration
- Applicable state licensure as a Radiologic Technologist required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required or within 90 days of hire

Pelican Urgent Care now hiring part-time/full-time Radiology Technologist
Responsibilities and Duties
This position with Pelican Urgent Care is unique. Our X-ray techs wear many hats, as they're licensed X-ray techs, but they would also be expected to assist the Provider and MA’s with patients, triaging, giving injections, etc. and deliver great patient care to our patients.
- Produce accurate and appropriate x-rays to aid in the diagnosis of medical problems
- Take measures to prevent patients from being exposed to unnecessary radiation
- Able to perform all types of x-rays for all body parts
- Properly operate and maintain specialized x-ray equipment
- Teamwork, patience and a caring demeanor
- The ability to function in a fast-paced and demanding environment
- Assist in answering office phone during hyperactive periods
- Prepare patients for examination and treatment if needed
- Should be able to multi-task all work assignments, and have them done in a timely manner
- Additional tasks including but not limited to: answering phones, taking vitals, assisting with procedures, give injections, etc.
- Willing to work at multiple locations.
- Requires rotating weekend shifts.
Qualifications and Skills
- Experience with Patient Care (PREFERRED)
- Previous Experience as a Radiology Technologist (PREFERRED)
- Experience with Urgent care center or emergency room (PREFERRED)
- Experience with Industrial/Occupational Medicine (PREFERRED)
- Occupational / Industrial Medicine Experience (PREFERRED)
