Coffee House Industries is seeking an experienced Set Carpenter to join our fabrication team. We build custom environments, branded activations, trade show exhibits, film and television sets, and immersive experiences for clients across the country.
We're looking for someone who takes pride in their craftsmanship, enjoys solving unique construction challenges, and has a strong background in finish carpentry. Every project is different, so the ideal candidate is adaptable, detail-oriented, and enjoys building high-quality work in a fast-paced shop environment.
Applicants must be at least 25 years old with a clean driving record, as this position requires driving company box trucks and other commercial vehicles to job sites and events.
Responsibilities
- Build custom scenic elements, exhibits, and set pieces from shop drawings and design packages.
- Perform finish carpentry including trim work, cabinetry, detailed assemblies, and final installation.
- Read blueprints, shop drawings, and construction documents.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and woodworking equipment safely and efficiently.
- Assist with fabrication using wood, laminates, plastics, and other scenic materials.
- Prepare projects for shipping, delivery, and installation.
- Load, secure, transport, and unload materials and completed projects using company trucks.
- Install and dismantle projects at client sites as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Collaborate with project managers, designers, painters, and fellow fabricators to deliver exceptional work on schedule.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of professional carpentry experience (finish carpentry preferred).
- Strong knowledge of woodworking techniques and construction methods.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings.
- Experience using table saws, miter saws, routers, drills, sanders, and other woodworking equipment.
- Comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs. and performing physical work throughout the day.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Must be 25 years of age or older to meet company insurance requirements for driving company vehicles.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in scenic fabrication, theatrical construction, museum exhibits, trade shows, or themed entertainment.
- Experience with laminate work, CNC equipment, or basic metal fabrication.
- Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Ability to travel occasionally for installations.
