EDUCATION:
- High School Diploma
- Completion of one of the following:
- WVIT (West Virginia Infant/Toddler) Professional Development
- First two semesters of ACDS (Apprenticeship for Child Development Specialist) for those currently enrolled or ACDS completed
- A college course in Infant/Toddler from an accredited college or university
- EXPERIENCE
- :
- Must be 18 years of age
- Have a minimum of 1 year work experience working with children
REQUIREMENTS:REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITES:
- Apply for WV STARS Career Pathway
- Complete 18 hours of approved training annually
- Child abuse and neglect training
- First Aid and CPR training
- Must have a warm and caring attitude toward working with children and their families
- Must be dependable and honest
- Must be flexible and adapt to change throughout the program
- Must be willing to accept supervision in order to improve work performance
- Must be physically able to work with young children
Responsibilities
- Assist in the daily care and supervision of infants and toddlers in a safe and nurturing environment.
- Support lead teachers in implementing age-appropriate educational activities and lesson plans.
- Monitor children's behavior and development, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom, ensuring all materials are safe and accessible.
- Communicate effectively with parents and staff regarding children's progress and needs.
- Adhere to CPR and first aid protocols to ensure the safety of all children.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $10.00 - $13.00 per hour
