Job Description
D&R Hauling is seeking experienced and dependable Dump Truck Drivers to safely transport aggregate, soil, demolition debris, and construction materials to and from job sites throughout the St. Louis region. The ideal candidate will operate company-owned trucks in compliance with DOT regulations, maintain a strong safety record, and represent the company professionally on every job.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate and drive tri-axle or tandem dump trucks to haul aggregate, dirt, rock, asphalt, and other construction materials.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections in compliance with DOT and company standards.
- Communicate with dispatch to receive assignments, confirm delivery instructions, and report issues.
- Accurately track loads, delivery tickets, and daily logs.
- Maneuver trucks into loading and unloading positions on construction sites, often in tight or rough conditions.
- Follow all safety guidelines and maintain awareness of surroundings on active job sites.
- Monitor truck condition and report maintenance or repair needs promptly.
- Maintain cleanliness of truck cab and bed.
- Provide excellent customer service and represent the company in a professional manner.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience driving dump trucks or other heavy commercial vehicles.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations, weight limits, and safe hauling practices.
- Strong commitment to safety and compliance.
- Ability to navigate local roads, highways, and construction sites.
- Physical ability to climb in/out of trucks and handle job site conditions.
- Strong work ethic, punctuality, and reliability.
Preferred Qualifications
- Union membership (Teamsters Local 682).
- Experience hauling for construction, excavation, or asphalt paving projects.
