About This Role
We're seeking a dedicated Lead Teacher to join our team at Willowcreek Academy, where you'll play a vital role in shaping the educational experience of our young learners. As a Lead Teacher, you'll be responsible for developing a cohesive teaching team, coordinating the curriculum, and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the classroom. You'll need to be passionate about creating a safe and stimulating environment that fosters children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth. Strong communication skills are essential, as you'll be working with children, teacher assistants, and parents to meet the needs of our students and resolve any concerns that may arise.
What You'll Do

Plan and implement engaging activities that align with early learning standards and promote social, cognitive, and emotional growth in children.

Lead by example, providing coaching and support to teaching team members to ensure their success.

Develop and maintain a comprehensive communication plan to keep parents informed about their child's progress.

Ensure the classroom environment is safe, healthy, and clean, adhering to state regulations and center policies.

Supervise teacher assistants and volunteers, ensuring they follow planned activities and maintain high standards of hygiene and safety.

Maintain accurate records, forms, and files to ensure seamless operations.

Stay up-to-date with professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and promote continuous quality improvement.

Establish a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages children to thrive and reach their full potential.
Requirements

Associate’s Degree in early childhood education or related field of study with a minimum of 30 Credits in ECE.

Must clear full background check and must pass health screening.

Minimum of 2 years of professional child care experience.

A strong understanding of child development.

Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.

High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment.

Requirements include the ability to take frequent walks, use hands and fingers, handle objects, tools or controls, talk to and hear voices at many levels. May also be required to kneel, bend, squat or crawl.

Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.

A specific vision ability will be required including the ability to see up close and up to a certain distance, to see colors, have peripheral vision and depth perception.
