Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled, seasoned Senior CNC Programmer / Operator to join our manufacturing team. This is a unique, permanent role designed for a technical expert who thrives on the shop floor but also possesses the leadership capability to manage projects from conception to completion.

Key Responsibilities
CNC Programming, Setup & Operation
- Write, edit, and optimize CNC programs; must be highly proficient in manual G-code editing directly at the machine controller to correct errors, improve cycle times, and adapt to machine variations.
- Perform complex fixture setups, tool selections, and part work-holding configurations for new and existing jobs.
- Operate and oversee CNC equipment (turning centers and mills), ensuring parts meet tight tolerances and strict quality standards.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot machine, tooling, program, or radius errors efficiently to minimize downtime.
Project Management
- Lead manufacturing projects, establishing clear timelines, tracking milestones, and ensuring on-time delivery of finished components.
- Collaborate with engineering, design, and production teams to evaluate part manufacturability and optimize workflows.
- Manage tooling inventory, material acquisition, and project-specific shop resources.
- Mentor junior machinists and operators, fostering a culture of safety, precision, and efficiency on the shop floor.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 5+ years of experience specifically in a Project Management role within a manufacturing environment.
- Technical Expertise: Expert-level knowledge of CNC machining operations, manual G-code editing, and machine controller navigation (experience with older or legacy controllers is a strong plus).
- Setup Mastery: Proven ability to design and execute robust fixture setups from scratch based on technical blueprints and CAD/CAM models.
- Troubleshooting: Exceptional mechanical aptitude and a systematic approach to debugging programming tolerances or mechanical issues.
- Communication: Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills to effectively manage cross-functional projects.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree, machinist certification, or Project Management certification (PMP) is preferred but not required if backed by equivalent field experience.
