Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Truck Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide variety of heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and industrial equipment. Your expertise will ensure that our fleet operates safely, efficiently, and reliably, supporting the seamless transportation of goods across diverse environments. Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics using schematics, automotive electrical systems, and specialized tools to identify mechanical and electrical issues in trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment.
- Conduct repairs on transmissions, brakes, suspensions, hydraulics, air brake systems, shocks & struts, and other mechanical systems to restore optimal vehicle performance.
- Execute routine maintenance tasks including tire service, wheel alignments, fluid changes, and preventive inspections to minimize downtime.
- Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding and hand tools to ensure proper fitment and function of equipment.
- Repair and maintain farm machinery, excavators, cranes, forklifts, power tools, and other industrial equipment to support diverse operational needs.
- Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex issues involving diesel engines, HVAC systems, vehicle electrical systems, and powertrain components.
- Assist with heavy lifting operations and perform vehicle assembly or disassembly for major repairs or upgrades.
Skills
- Proven dealership experience or extensive background in heavy truck repair and automotive diagnostics.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, suspensions, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic software to perform repairs efficiently.
- Experience working with heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors-trailers, and farm machinery.
- Ability to read schematics accurately for troubleshooting complex vehicle systems.
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on clear communication and teamwork in fast-paced environments.
- Physical capability for heavy lifting and performing maintenance tasks requiring manual dexterity.
