About the Role
The Administrative Assistant will provide temporary administrative and operational support to NLSLA’s Pacoima office. This role will help support the day-to-day operations of the office and work collaboratively with staff to ensure the office remains organized, welcoming, and responsive to the needs of staff, clients, and visitors.
In this role, you will report to the Administrative Initiatives Manager. This position is non-exempt, temporary, and part-time.
What You’ll Do

Monitor and restock kitchen, office, and administrative supplies to ensure necessary materials are readily available to staff.

Process incoming mail daily, including scanning and distributing materials as appropriate.

Prepare copies and other documentation needed to support intake and office operations.

Assemble outreach materials, swag items, and informational resources for community events and activities.

Prepare and organize event supplies, including tables, tents, tablecloths, and other materials needed for outreach events.

Provide front desk coverage as needed.

Set up conference rooms and meeting spaces in preparation for meetings, trainings, and other office activities.

Provide general administrative and operational support to address day-to-day office needs and assist with other office-related tasks as assigned.

This position is designated as in-person. This position will be on-site at our Pacoima office Monday through Thursday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Travel to NLSLA program offices, courthouses, and other locations throughout Los Angeles County may be required.
Requirements:
What You’ll Need

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and adjust to changing day-to-day office needs.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally and collaboratively with staff, clients, visitors, and community members.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel, business communication platforms, and web-based case management platforms.

Passion for NLSLA mission and demonstrated commitment to advocating for the legal rights of low-income individuals.

Passion, empathy, and compassion for supporting people from different lived experiences.
Bonus Points

Are bilingual in Spanish, due to the high number of Spanish-speaking residents in the community, or in any of the other Los Angeles threshold languages.

Competitive Compensation: $28.84–$31.04 per hour (equivalent to approximately $52,500–$56,500 annually based on a 35 hour work week), depending on experience.

Generous Time Off: 18 paid holidays, 2 to 5 weeks of vacation depending on seniority, and 12 days of sick leave.

Monthly bilingual supplement for qualified employees. Note: Qualified employees with bilingual proficiency are expected to provide in-language assistance when feasible to support language access and in furtherance of NLSLA's mission. This expectation applies whether or not the employee receives the bilingual supplement.
