MYKA® is a premium Greek frozen yogurt brand built on a dedication to excellence, authenticity, and an exceptional customer experience. We're opening in the San Diego area and looking for energetic, detail-oriented team members to join us from the ground floor.
The Role
As a Team Member and Shift Lead, you'll be the face of MYKA® — greeting every guest with a positive attitude, preparing and serving our products to exacting standards, and keeping the store clean, organized, and inviting. You'll work closely with the Store Manager to hit sales goals and deliver a memorable experience for every customer who walks through the door.
What You'll Do
Customer Service
- Welcome every guest warmly and provide immediate, attentive assistance
- Listen to customer preferences and make personalized recommendations on flavors, toppings, and menu items
- Handle complaints or concerns with professionalism, turning problems into positive experiences
Product Preparation
- Prepare and serve products following MYKA® recipes and presentation standards for consistent quality
- Maintain a clean and sanitary preparation area at all times, adhering to all food safety and handling requirements
- Keep the store looking sharp during service — entrance, dining area, and workstations
Operations & Transactions
- Operate the POS system accurately for in-store and takeaway orders
- Follow all cash handling procedures, including opening and closing the register
- Assist with daily inventory tracking — receiving product, logging usage, and flagging shortages
Leadership & Team Support
- Act as the on-duty leader during assigned shifts, providing direction and support to team members
- Train new hires on customer service standards, product preparation, and store procedures
- Foster a positive, productive team environment and lead by example during busy periods
Operations Oversight
- Oversee daily shift operations to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and adherence to MYKA® standards
- Monitor workflow and adjust team assignments to meet customer demand and maintain service speed
- Ensure all opening and closing procedures are completed accurately
Customer Experience
- Handle escalated customer concerns with professionalism and care, ensuring timely resolution
- Maintain a high standard of service and step in as needed to support team members during peak hours
Inventory & Compliance
- Assist with inventory management, including stock counts, usage tracking, and waste reduction
- Support basic store ordering, including monitoring stock levels and communicating replenishment needs
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards at all times
What We're Looking For
Experience
- Previous customer service experience preferred (food service or retail a plus)
- Familiarity with POS systems and basic cash handling is helpful but not required — we'll train you
Knowledge
- Willingness to learn our full menu, including ingredients and common allergens
- Basic comfort with technology (POS terminals, simple reporting)
Skills & Qualities
- Friendly, professional demeanor with people from all backgrounds
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
- Comfortable in a fast-paced environment — you can stay focused when it gets busy
- Team player who keeps a positive attitude and pitches in wherever needed
Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years of age
- California Food Handler Card (or willingness to obtain one before your start date)
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 30 lbs, and work in a food service environment
- Legal authorization to work in the United States
Pay: $18.25 per hour
