Duties
- Safely operate various vehicles including box trucks (with lift gates) and personal vehicles for delivery routes.
- Load and unload vehicles while adhering to safe lifting practices.
- Follow established routes diligently, utilizing mobile devices for navigation and delivery tracking.
- Ensure compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations, traffic laws, and workplace safety standards during all driving activities.
- Provide excellent customer service by delivering products promptly and professionally, addressing customer inquiries courteously.
- Assist in bread and pastry packaging when needed, including material handling equipment operation and inventory management.
- Load and secure shipments properly to prevent damage during transit; perform routine vehicle inspections for safety and maintenance needs.
Experience
- Previous delivery driver experience or warehouse experience is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with box trucks is also preferred.
- Knowledge of manual handling, heavy lifting, and safe lifting practices in a warehouse and bakery distribution setting.
- Ability to adhere to route schedules efficiently while maintaining safety standards.
- Strong understanding of traffic regulations, DOT requirements, and weight handling in the workplace.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service; comfortable using mobile devices for route management.
