VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
POSITION: Boys Volleyball Junior Varsity Coach LOCATION: Groves High School
SALARY: According to Schedule B salary schedule POSTING DATE: June 16, 2026
SCHEDULE: 2026-27 Season

Groves High School is seeking a Boys Volleyball Junior Varsity Coach for the 2026-2027 school year.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Assist the head coach in developing and maintaining a program that is positive, safe, educational, and
sportsmanlike
- Support the planning and implementation of daily practices and training sessions
- Assist with preseason workouts, conditioning, and camps as permitted by MHSAA regulations
- Provide instruction and skill development to student athletes.
- Support supervision of student athletes during practices, competitions, and team activities
- Promote positive relationships with student athletes, parents, and community members
- Work cooperatively with the head coach, athletic department, and school administration
- Assist with team communication and program organization as directed by the head coach
- Other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director or Principal
Qualifications
The individual selected for this assignment will be the one who offers the best combination of qualities in
accordance with the following standards and requirements:
1. Successful high school head or assistant coaching experience.
2. Proven values and core beliefs which are consistent with our school community.
3. Outstanding organizational and communication skills.
4. Proven ability to work well with others including administration, coaches, teachers and parents.
5. Strong knowledge of Volleyball.
Compensation will be based upon the BEA Schedule B, High School Coach Salary Schedule.
