Duties
- Operate commercial dishwashing equipment to clean dishes, cookware, utensils, and kitchen tools efficiently and safely
- Follow food safety sanitizing procedures to prevent contamination and ensure compliance with health regulations
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks when needed, including handling ingredients and organizing supplies
- Support bussing duties by clearing tables, removing trash, and maintaining cleanliness in dining areas
- Handle manual lifting of heavy pots, pans, and boxes while adhering to proper lifting techniques to prevent injury
- Maintain sanitation standards by regularly cleaning workstations, sinks, floors, and storage areas
- Assist with food handling procedures during catering or banquet events to ensure proper hygiene practices are followed
Experience
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred but not required; training will be provided
- Familiarity with food safety management and sanitation practices is advantageous
- Experience operating kitchen equipment such as dishwashers or industrial cleaning machines is a plus
- Knowledge of kitchen health and safety standards ensures safe working conditions for all team members
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during busy service periods
- Basic knife skills or culinary experience can be beneficial for supporting food prep tasks during peak times
- Prior catering or banquet experience is desirable but not essential; enthusiasm for hospitality is key
