The Rehabilitation Technician supports the therapy team (Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Speech-Language Pathologists) in providing high-quality, compassionate care to residents. The Rehab Tech assists in preparing treatment areas, transporting residents, maintaining equipment, and ensuring smooth operations of the rehab department within a skilled nursing facility.
Assist therapists in setting up and cleaning treatment areas.
Transport residents to and from therapy sessions safely and efficiently.
Maintain organization and cleanliness of equipment and supplies.
Perform clerical duties such as filing, scheduling, data entry, and documentation assistance under the direction of licensed therapists.
Monitor residents during therapy sessions for safety and comfort.
Ensure equipment is sanitized and in good working condition.
Support therapists in non-clinical tasks to optimize resident care and workflow.
Comply with all HIPAA regulations and facility policies.
Participate in staff meetings and training as required.
High School Diploma or GED required.
Previous experience in a healthcare or rehab setting preferred.
Basic knowledge of physical therapy/occupational therapy principles is a plus.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to safely assist with resident mobility and transfers.
Basic computer skills and familiarity with electronic documentation systems.
CPR certification preferred.
Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
Ability to assist with resident transfers and mobility activities.
Able to lift up to 50 pounds and assist with heavier loads using appropriate equipment or help.
