Front Desk Sales Associate — Metro Pickleball ClubAbout the Role
Metro Pickleball Club is looking for a Front Desk Sales Associate who treats every person walking through our doors as an opportunity — not just to check them in, but to sell them on becoming a member, upgrading their gear, or signing up for their next event. This is not a passive "answer questions when asked" front desk role. This is a sales role that happens to sit at the front desk.
We need someone who is naturally outgoing, isn't afraid of hearing "no," and knows how to turn a casual conversation into a closed sale — whether that's a new membership, a pro-shop purchase, or a league registration.
What You'll Do
Membership & Event Sales
- Proactively engage every guest, walk-in, and drop-in player — don't wait for them to ask about membership options
- Confidently explain membership tiers, league offerings, and tournament pricing, and directly ask people to commit
- Follow up on leads via phone calls, voicemails, and text messages — this includes calling people who haven't responded and leaving messages that get callbacks
- Track and follow up on prospective members who toured but didn't sign up on the spot
Pro-Shop Sales
- Actively recommend paddles, apparel, and accessories based on what you observe about a guest's game and needs
- Upsell and cross-sell at checkout rather than just ringing people up
- Stay current on new product arrivals and be able to speak to features and benefits, not just price
Front Desk Operations
- Check in members and guests, manage court reservations and league sign-ups
- Handle POS transactions, memberships software, and scheduling systems accurately
- Keep the front desk and pro-shop area organized and presentable
Who We're Looking For
- A self-starter. You don't need to be told to strike up a conversation — you look for the opening.
- Comfortable with rejection. Not everyone will say yes. You can hear "no" without letting it slow you down, and you know how to follow up without being pushy.
- Not afraid to ask for the sale. You can directly ask someone if they want to join, sign up, or buy — and you're comfortable doing that consistently, not just when it feels easy.
- A strong communicator. You're comfortable talking to strangers of all ages and backgrounds, in person and on the phone.
- Confident on the phone. You can make outbound calls, leave a voicemail that actually gets a callback, and follow up with a well-written text.
- Tech-comfortable. This role is computer-heavy — you'll be in POS systems, membership software, scheduling tools, and texting/email platforms all day. You should be quick to learn new software and comfortable typing and navigating multiple systems at once.
- Reliable and organized. You can manage a front desk, a sales pipeline, and walk-in traffic all at the same time.
Preferred (not required)
- Prior sales, retail, or hospitality experience
- Experience with CRM or marketing/retention platforms (e.g., text/email marketing tools)
- Familiarity with pickleball or racquet sports
Why Metro Pickleball Club
You'll be the first face people see and the person who turns a curious visitor into a committed member. If you like the idea of being measured on results — memberships sold, pro-shop revenue, leads converted — and being rewarded for it, this is your kind of role.
