The Briefing Room is seeking a creative, organized, and motivated Video Production Intern who wants hands-on experience working as part of a professional video production team.
The Briefing Room produces law enforcement briefing and training videos used by agencies throughout California and across the country. Our production team develops videos from the initial script through filming, editing, graphics, and final release.
The Production Intern will work closely with our Production Assistant and other members of the production team, providing support throughout that process while gaining practical experience in several different areas of video production.
What You'll Work On
As a Production Intern, you will assist with:
· Preparing and organizing upcoming A-roll and B-roll film shoots
· Assisting the Production Assistant with scheduling, production coordination, and location research
· Helping organize law enforcement officers, actors, presenters, props, and other resources needed for shoots
· Preparing props, wardrobe, and production materials before filming
· Maintaining an organized inventory of studio props and production materials
· Assisting with camera, lighting, audio, teleprompter, and other equipment setup
· Assisting the cinematographer and production team during studio and on-location shoots
· Organizing footage and production assets after filming
· Assisting with video editing and basic post-production tasks
· Creating AI-generated graphics and visual assets for training videos
· Creating thumbnails and graphics for videos published on The Briefing Room website
· Organizing scripts, raw footage, B-roll, graphics, project files, and completed videos
· Assisting with production tracking and project organization in Asana
· Maintaining organized production files in Google Drive
· Helping prepare completed videos and associated assets for publication
· Supporting other production needs as our video library continues to expand
Who We're Looking For
This position is ideal for a candidate interested in film, television, digital media, communications, video production, or related creative work.
We're looking for someone who is:
· Organized and dependable
· Creative and willing to learn
· Comfortable working both independently and as part of a production team
· Detail-oriented and able to follow an established production workflow
· Interested in video editing, cinematography, graphics, and production
· Familiar with Adobe Premiere Pro or similar editing software
· Interested in learning AI-assisted video and graphic-production tools
· Comfortable assisting with cameras, lighting, audio, and other production equipment
· Able to accept feedback and make revisions
· Comfortable assisting both in the studio and at filming locations throughout Ventura County
Understanding of law enforcement culture, terminology, or operations is helpful but not required.

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
