General Purpose: The Certified Nursing Assistant is responsible for the provision of direct, quality patient care to all NCHD patients/residents within the defined scope of practice established by State regulations. The state regulations will be referenced to and all appropriate licensures will be held by CNA.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assist residents/patients with the completion of all activities of daily living as needed. This may include but is not limited to: toileting, bathing, feeding, dressing, hair care and ambulating residents.
- Complete appropriate shift documentation in a timely manner in the EMR system and to your charge nurse.
- Work independently as well as successfully function as a member of the clinical team to ensure continuity of care of all residents/patients.
- Communicate patient information to the charge nurse in a timely manner
- Effectively and respectfully communicate with patients, visitors, peers and other staff members
- Utilize the established chain of command for all communications regarding any concerns or complaints
- Expected to attend all mandatory meetings and trainings set up by the facility
- Expected to utilize Incident/Risk reporting system in a timely manner
- Have the knowledge of facility policies and procedures to effectively report any concerns to your charge nurse or upper administration.
- Be respectful to all fellow employees, contract employees’ patients
- Follow all facility expectations when it comes to Customer Service and the Service Excellence Initiative
- Take the initiative to be an active employee/contract employee by taking interest in responding to emails in a timely manner and participating in NCHD events.
Other Duties/Responsibilities: In addition to the daily responsibilities, the CNA is responsible for assisting with other duties as assigned. CNAs are required to maintain continuing education credits associated with CNA certification. This individual is expected to follow all policies and procedures of NCH and observe the rules and regulations pertaining to Corporate Compliance and confidentiality (HIPAA).
Education or Formal Training:
- Minimum education: High School Graduate or Equivalent or current high school student
- Experience with Electronic Health Records Preferred
- Must maintain current CPR certification while employed at NCHD
- Must possess a current Certified Nursing Assistant certification from the Wyoming State Board of Nursing
Experience: At least one year of experience in similar setting is preferred, however willing to train
