- Create a positive classroom environment where every child feels comfortable, included, and encouraged to participate.
- Guide students through open-ended art experiences that encourage creativity, exploration, confidence, and self-expression.
- Prepare art materials and organize the studio before classes and special events.
- Keep the studio tidy, clean, and ready for the next group throughout the day.
- Adjust projects and your teaching approach to accommodate different ages, abilities, personalities, and learning styles.
- Get to know your students and build positive, trusting relationships with them.
- Greet and communicate with parents and caregivers in a friendly, professional manner.
- Share classroom observations, student successes, challenges, supply needs, and ideas that could make our classes and studio even better.
- Help maintain a studio environment that feels creative, organized, welcoming, and inspiring.
You’ll Be a Great Fit If You...
- Truly enjoy working with children and find it rewarding to help them discover new skills and interests.
- Believe art is an important way for kids to express themselves, build confidence, and explore the world around them.
- Are patient, upbeat, dependable, and comfortable taking the lead with a group of children.
- Can embrace the unexpected and roll with the occasional mess, big feelings, or change of plans.
- Are responsible, organized, and able to take initiative without needing constant direction.
- Enjoy collaborating with a team and contributing to a positive studio culture.
- Have a genuine interest in art, creativity, making, or hands-on learning.
- Aren’t afraid to get messy—and are willing to help clean up afterward!
Preferred Qualifications
