Position Title: Material Handler/Machine Operator IV (Lead Operator)

Supervises: Material Handler/Machine Operator I, II, and III
General Statement of Duties
The Material Handler/Machine Operator IV (Lead Operator) is the highest-level non-management production position. This role is responsible for performing all duties of Material Handler/Machine Operator Levels I, II, and III while providing day-to-day leadership of production operations. The Lead Operator oversees workflow, assigns work, supports and coaches team members, operates advanced saw and material handling equipment, ensures compliance with safety standards, and maintains production efficiency. This position is expected to work independently, make sound decisions, troubleshoot equipment, and uphold quality and safety standards throughout the shift.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Successfully demonstrate proficiency in all duties of Material Handler/Machine Operator III before assuming Level IV responsibilities.
Perform all duties of Material Handler/Machine Operator Levels I, II, and III.
Troubleshoot saws and production equipment.
Identify and resolve material, equipment, and workflow issues.
Adjust equipment settings as needed to maintain quality and efficiency.
Coordinate with maintenance personnel for repairs beyond the operator level.
Ensure equipment is operated safely and properly by all crew members.
Make timely, safe decisions to maintain production flow.
Manage daily production workflow and assign work to team members.
Prioritize production jobs based on deadlines, material availability, and production goals.
Monitor production output and adjust workflow to maximize efficiency.
Identify production bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.
Ensure production goals and quality standards are consistently met or exceeded.
Complete production logs, data sheets, and other required documentation accurately and on time.
Maintain inventory records and production data.
Build pallets, crates, and custom or specialty orders independently.
Read and interpret build sheets, drawings, specifications, and verbal instructions.
Verify that all custom and specialty orders meet customer requirements.
Follow and enforce all organizational policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
Maintain high standards of product quality and consistency.
Foster a positive, productive, and respectful work environment.
Provide coaching, training, and ongoing support to team members.
Assist supervisors with onboarding and skill development of new employees as needed.

Ability to work in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures and weather conditions, including heat, humidity, and cold.
Driving Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
Experience and Education
High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
Prior experience in manufacturing, warehouse operations, saw operation, pallet production, or a related field required.
Demonstrated proficiency in Material Handler/Machine Operator Levels I, II, and III or equivalent experience.
Previous leadership or team lead experience preferred.
Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour
