Role summary:
The Senior Technician, General Facilities Maintenance, plays a critical role in ensuring the safety, functionality, and upkeep of facility equipment through routine preventive maintenance and timely repairs. This position involves diagnosing issues, overseeing repair projects, and managing maintenance schedules while adhering to regulatory standards. The role requires expertise in multiple crafts, effective coordination with contractors and suppliers, and commitment to quality and safety. The Senior Technician also supports continuous improvement efforts and provides guidance to junior associates, contributing to the overall operational excellence of Walmart’s facilities.
About the team:
The Facilities Management HVACR team coordinates field operations by managing resources, assessing customer needs, and overseeing work assignments to meet quality and timeline goals. The team leads special projects by evaluating technologies and recommending improvements. They ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration, Environmental Protection Agency, and industry regulations through regular inspections and adherence to safety and environmental policies. By inspecting HVACR equipment and Energy Management Systems installations, the team maintains high standards, ensures contract compliance, and addresses deficiencies to support efficient, safe, and reliable facility operations.
What you'll do:
- Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure safety, functionality, and appearance of facilities equipment and fixtures.

Inspect, clean, and repair equipment, documenting signs of wear and recommending necessary repairs or replacements.

Conduct major and minor repairs using multiple craft skills including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.

Oversee junior associates and act as job foreman on assigned work sites.

Manage work orders, maintenance schedules, parts inventory, and contractor compliance with quality and safety standards.

Respond promptly to emergency calls and ensure all work meets regulatory and company requirements.

Provide onsite training and expert guidance to support continuous improvement and operational excellence.
What you'll bring:
- Proven experience in preventive maintenance and equipment repair within facilities management.

Strong knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations and compliance.

Ability to perform and oversee major and minor repairs across multiple crafts including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.

Skilled in diagnosing equipment issues using blueprints, repair manuals, and appropriate tools.

Experience managing maintenance schedules, work orders, and contractor coordination.

Competence in documenting maintenance activities and managing parts inventory.

Effective communication and leadership skills to train and guide junior associates.

The hourly wage range for this position is $21.00 - $40.00* *The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.

Vocational or Technical certification and 5 years' experience in one of the following trades: plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related trade or 7 years' experience in one of the following trades: plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related trade.
Valid Driver's License.
Eligible for a Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
1 year’s experience using intermediate level functionality of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (for example, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
