Rocket Electric is a growing commercial electrical contractor serving customers throughout the Southeast. We specialize in commercial electrical construction, service, rollouts, lighting upgrades, EV charging installations, and maintenance projects. We are looking for an organized, driven Assistant Project Manager to join our team and help ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
Position Summary
The Assistant Project Manager works closely with Project Managers, field supervisors, customers, vendors, and subcontractors to support the successful execution of commercial electrical projects.
This is not a position for someone who waits to be told what to do. We are looking for someone who takes ownership, thinks ahead, anticipates problems before they arise, and follows through without constant supervision. The ideal candidate is proactive, resourceful, and committed to helping the entire team succeed.
Responsibilities
· Assist Project Managers with daily project operations.
· Coordinate project schedules, materials, vendors, and subcontractors.
· Prepare and process RFIs, submittals, purchase orders, change orders, and closeout documents.
· Track project budgets, schedules, and job progress.
· Coordinate permitting and inspections.
· Communicate professionally with customers, vendors, field personnel, and subcontractors.
· Identify potential issues early and work with the team to resolve them before they affect the project.
· Maintain organized and accurate project documentation.
· Support billing, invoicing, and project reporting.
· Ensure projects comply with company safety and quality standards.
· Take ownership of assigned responsibilities and consistently follow through to completion.
Qualifications
· 2+ years of project coordination or project management experience (construction or electrical industry preferred).
· Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills.
· Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
· Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
· Ability to read construction drawings is a plus.

Pay: $51,506.82 - $65,000.00 per year
