Degree in Radiologic Technology, American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) Ultrasound certification, and minimum 1+ years Imaging experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An exciting opportunity is available for a skilled Ultrasound Technologist to provide general diagnostic ultrasound imaging on a contract basis, supporting emergency department patient care in a contemporary facility with advanced imaging technology.
Schedule/Hours:
- 12-hour night shifts: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, Friday through Sunday (36 hours/week)
- On-call requirement: 2 nights per month, chosen by the technologist
- Weekend shifts required every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
- Expectation to work approximately 75% of holidays
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in ultrasound imaging, preferably within emergency/acute care settings
- Certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (S)
- Current BLS certification
- Comfortable as a first-time traveler and working night shifts
- Radius rule applies: candidate’s permanent address must be at least 50 miles from facility
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform high-quality, general ultrasound imaging for a variety of emergency cases (averaging 5 studies per shift)
- Contribute to patient flow: assist with rooming, obtaining vital signs, EKGs, and other support tasks as needed
- Support colleagues through teamwork—occasional assistance with patient transport or supporting other modalities
- Collaborate effectively with emergency department staff and radiology team
- Operate Siemens Sequoia ultrasound systems, Epic EMR, and Philips iSite PACS
- Adhere to department protocols and provide compassionate patient care
