What We Offer:
Novant Health Pediatrics South Ballantyne is seeking a part-time Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)!
Work Schedule: Four days per week, Monday - Friday, 8:00 am–5:00 pm; occasional Saturdays from 9:00am-11:00am
The role of the CMA is to coordinate and assist the provider to ensure safe quality/cost effective service and care for the people within the practice population.
What We're Looking For:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED, required.

Candidates will provide proof of current certification from one of the approved certifying registries including: • CMA with the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) • CCMA with the National Health Career Association (NHA) • RMA with the American Medical Technologists (AMT) • American Registry of Medical Assistants (NHCWA) • National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) • National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP) • American Allied Health (AAH) RMA with the American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA). If a candidate is not currently certified, they must obtain certification or registration by the end of the sixth month of their hire and sign an education agreement.

Experience: Previous work in a medical office, preferred.

Licensure/Certification: Current certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire as CMA, RMA or CCMA, required. Current State Drivers License (Palliative Care Only), required.

Additional skills required: Ability to successfully complete generic and department specific skills validation and competency testing.

Work alongside the provider to support patient care

Room patients and prepare them for examinations

Obtain and record vital signs

Perform clinical tests as required

Administer vaccines and medications per protocol

Assist with inventory management and ordering medical supplies

Support audit preparation and compliance activities

Perform other related duties as assigned
