Job description
Position Summary: Perform a wide range of duties and tasks to safely and efficiently produce precast concrete products of the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, willing to tackle tough tasks, be timely and ready to work.
Position Responsibilities: Essential Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
- Accurately read and interpret drawings and blueprints, including rebar placement, knockout/void placement, etc.
- Cuts, bends, places, and ties steel rebar
- Prepares steel molds, including building, cleaning and prepping for filling with concrete
- Places concrete in molds from pour bucket
- Finishes fresh concrete after placing in molds
- Disassembles, removes hardened product, and cleans molds the following day
- Facility maintenance and housekeeping, including minor upkeep on equipment
- Product yarding and truck loading
- Ensure tools are free from excess concrete after each use
Education/Experience
- Minimum High School Diploma (or equivalent)
- Related industry experience preferred.
- Machinery operation preferred.
- Welding experience preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Ability:
- Ability and willingness to learn and be trained
- Some construction experience preferred, precast experience not necessary
- Capable of passing required physical examination
- Able to speak and comprehend basic English
- Working safely - PPE is a requirement
- Good attendance and positive attitude.
- Knowledge and skills to use basic tools
- Team oriented, willingly to work with others
- Knowledge of basic measurements and how to read a tape measure
- Understands and can apply basic mathematical skills (adding, subtracting, multiplication & division)
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Industrial Plant environment.
- Frequent Walking/Standing (6+ hrs/day).
- frequent lifting (up to 30 lbs).
- Max lift (up to 50 lbs).
- Frequent climbing of ladders.
