Job Title: Field Engineer

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Field Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will provide engineering and technical support on the construction and commissioning of solar and energy storage projects, ensuring that all activities are carried out in accordance with project plans, specifications, and safety standards. You will work closely with the project management team, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and in compliance with all safety and quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Field Engineering Support:
- Oversee day-to-day engineering activities for solar and energy storage projects.
- Coordinate and support site construction, electrical, and mechanical installation teams to ensure projects adhere to specifications, timelines, and budgets.
- Troubleshoot and resolve engineering and construction issues as they arise , ensuring minimal downtime.
- Quality Assurance and Compliance:
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure work is being completed to design specifications and quality standards.
- Review design documents, shop drawings, and submittals to ensure accuracy and compliance with contractual requirements.
- Ensure adherence to all applicable safety, regulatory, and environmental guidelines.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of project progress, technical issues, and solutions implemented.
- Prepare and submit regular status reports, including engineering progress, delays, and any changes in project scope or design.
- Assist with the preparation of as-built drawings and final project documentation.
- Coordination and Communication:
- Act as the primary point of contact between project management, engineering teams, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Assist with scheduling and coordination of field personnel and subcontractors to ensure adequate resource allocation.
- Provide technical training and guidance to personnel and subcontractors as needed.
- Commissioning and Testing:
- Support commissioning activities and systems testing to ensure all components are fully operational before handover.
- Verify system performance and troubleshoot any operational issues during the commissioning and start-up phases.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance quality.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of best practices, lessons learned, and safety protocols.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience in an engineering or field operations role, preferably within the renewable energy sector (solar or energy storage).
- Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, or civil construction, with an emphasis on renewable energy systems.
- Familiarity with project management tools, construction schedules, and quality control procedures.
- Proficiency with technical drawings (e.g., schematics, blueprints) and engineering software.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically in high-pressure environments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, contractors, and clients.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with renewable energy project commissioning and startup.
- Knowledge of electrical code (NEC) and other relevant industry standards.
- Experience with utility-scale solar projects and energy storage systems.
- Professional certifications (e.g., PE, LEED, PMP) are a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in an outdoor construction environment, including exposure to various weather conditions.
- Must be able to lift and carry equipment up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to travel frequently to project sites and remain for extended periods.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $62,339.51 - $75,075.53 per year
