LTG, Inc. is seeking a motivated Transportation Engineering Specialist to join our Traffic Operations team. This entry‑level to early‑career role focuses on analyzing traffic patterns, conducting operational studies, and supporting transportation projects that enhance roadway safety and efficiency. Ideal candidates are analytical, detail‑oriented, and eager to grow within a collaborative consulting environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Traffic Operations & Analysis:
- Conduct traffic operations studies, including:
- Traffic Impact Studies (TIS)
- Corridor and intersection analyses
- Traffic signal warrant studies
- Safety and operational studies
- Perform traffic analysis and simulation modeling using Synchro and Highway Capacity Software (HCS).
Data Review & Interpretation:
- Review and analyze traffic data such as: Turning movement counts; Daily machine counts; Crash history; Signal timing data
- Forecast future travel demand using FDOT procedures, population growth trends, approved developments, and historical data.
- Estimate trip generation, trip distribution, and evaluate internal site circulation.
Field Investigations:
- Conduct field reviews to assess: Roadway operations; Signage, pavement markings, and traffic signals; Multimodal access, lane geometry, and driver behavior.
Project Coordination:
- Support project managers by coordinating with internal teams and external consultants via meetings, email, phone, and Microsoft Teams.
- Meet assigned project schedules and quality control requirements.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
- Bachelor of Science degree in a related discipline
Experience:
- 0–2 years of relevant experience
- Hands‑on experience with Synchro and HCS
Technical Skills:
- Strong analytical and mathematical abilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Familiarity with AutoCAD or MicroStation (preferred)
Professional Skills:
- Detail‑oriented and highly organized
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- Engineer Intern (EI) certification or plans to obtain within six months
- OR AICP certification
