American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Telemetry position in Illinois, requiring EKG/rhythm strip interpretation competency and night shift availability.

Telemetry unit in an acute care hospital setting

Patient ratio of 1:6

Patient population includes those requiring telemetry monitoring and chronic ventilator management

EKG monitoring and rhythm strip interpretation are core components of the role

Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (18:45–07:15)

Every other weekend required

Floating required

Charting performed in Epic
-
Active Illinois (IL) RN license required — pending licensure is not accepted

Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
-
Minimum 1 year of RN experience required

Competency in EKG rhythm strip interpretation required — candidates must pass an EKG strip test at orientation

Chronic ventilator experience required
-
Experience initiating and maintaining cardiac drips (e.g., dobutamine, amiodarone, cardizem) preferred

Epic EMR experience preferred

2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration

Responsibilities include assessing acute changes in patient condition in a fast-paced telemetry environment

Block scheduling cannot be accommodated

Maximum of 7 days RTO for the duration of the contract — all time-off requests must be submitted upfront
