Position Title: Social Worker
Summary: As a member of the child study team, the social worker will provide a problem solving service to children and their families. The social worker serves as a case manager, member of the CST for educational planning and placement, and provides social history assessment information.. This position requires a high degree of responsibility, discretion, independent judgment and confidentiality.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree from a graduate school of social work program including a supervised social work practicum.
- Certified as a NJ School Social Worker.
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of child growth and development, learning assessment and diagnosis, psychological research related to learning, and group and individual therapy strategies.
- Demonstrate an understanding of current rules and regulations regarding a child study team and special education assessment and program requirements.
- Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, using proper grammar and vocabulary.
- Understand the requirement to maintain confidentiality concerning child study team and charter school-related matters.
Prior to employment, the following must be addressed:
- Required to complete a criminal history background check to prove that the individual has not been convicted of a crime or a disorderly person’s offense in accordance with EDN Section 2854 (a-2).
- Provide evidence that health is adequate to fulfill the job functions and responsibilities with reasonable accommodation pursuant to 42 U.S.C. 12101 and in accordance with EDN Section 2854 (a-2).
- Pass the state required Mantoux Intradermal Tuberculin Test.
- A valid driver’s license is preferred.

Performance Responsibilities:
The Social Worker at iLearn Schools Inc. supports the school’s mission by serving on the Child Study Team and leading the I&RS team, ensuring compliance with all regulations while upholding high ethical and professional standards. Responsibilities include developing and monitoring IEPs, conducting assessments, providing counseling and crisis intervention, collaborating with staff, parents, and outside agencies, and maintaining confidentiality. The Social Worker also supports student well-being and academic success through communication, participation in meetings and professional development, and performing other duties as assigned.

Terms of Employment: Ten-month employee
Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with New Jersey state law and the provisions of the iLearn Schools policy on evaluation of certified personnel.
