Case Study Coffee is looking for a hard working team member with a can do attitude who is familiar with all general aspects of facilities and equipment maintenance, including but not limited troubleshooting and repairing electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical designs within our warehouse, cafes, coffee/espresso/roasting equipment, and general restaurant equipment. Must be comfortable with power tools and multimeters with a basic understanding of mechanical functions and how things work. General construction knowledge including basic carpentry and finish work is also necessary. Prior experience with coffee and espresso machines is not required, but interest to grow in and learn in this field is important.
General Duties and Responsibilities: Assist in performing diversified duties to help install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain the facility’s equipment and facilities under the guidance of the Owner/Head of Facilities & Maintenance. Ability to work remotely and unsupervised is necessary.
- Assist in the buildout of the Warehouse/Headquarters and new shops
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of equipment and systems to prevent downtime and loss.
- Perform carpentry, painting, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing repairs as instructed by the head of maintenance and facilities and cafe managers.
- Assist with preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and warehouse facilities.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests as directed by the head of maintenance, assisting with diagnostics and repairs.
- Follow safety rules and regulations in all work areas and assist in identifying and fixing potential safety hazards.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to support maintenance and service tasks.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment.
- Assist in managing the stocking and procurement of maintenance supplies and equipment.
- Learn about espresso/coffee/roasting equipment repair and upkeep/restore Case Study’s fleet of brewing/roasting equipment.
- Basic automobile repair, upkeep, and maintenance
Knowledge, Skills, and Ability Requirements:
- General understanding of mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance
- Ability to learn and retain mechanical, industrial, and construction skills.
- Proficient in using hand tools and repair equipment.
- Ability to handle physical workload, including lifting items over 75 pounds, climbing, kneeling, and stooping.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Prompt, clear, and detailed communication via text and phone is a must.
- Must be a team player who will follow through on tasks as directed in a timely manner.
- Ability to be on call for emergency repairs, especially after shop hours (between 4pm and 9pm)
- Must have driver’s license and clean driving record

Work Environment:
The noise level in the warehouse/roastery environment can be loud. Work may involve exposure to fumes, airborne particles, or adverse weather conditions.
Physical Demands:
This role is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. Must frequently lift and/or move items over 75 pounds.
