Job Overview
As an Equipment Operator, you will operate specialized mowing equipment and perform specific tasks related to the maintenance of the golf course and grounds.
Responsibilities
- Operate various mowing implements and tractors.
- Perform daily tasks necessary to keep the maintenance facility clean, organized, and safe.
- Clean machinery after each use.
- Inspect all machines and report any deficiencies to the Equipment Mechanic.
- Ensure you are thoroughly trained for the procedure at each task prior to performing task.
- Follow the guidelines as directed by supervisors.
- Perform other functions and routine golf course maintenance activities as directed by the Golf Course Superintendent and Assistant Golf Course Superintendents.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age, have a valid driver’s license and be able to operate a motor vehicle.
- Previous golf course maintenance or landscaping experience preferred.
- Ability to and willingness to wear required personal protective clothing and/or use protective equipment to comply with established safety operating standards.
- Ability to operate golf course equipment.
- Ability to work in various extreme weather conditions.
- Willingness to work with or around heavy equipment, sharp utensils, pesticides, herbicides and fertilizers, and/or flying golf balls.
- Ability to work every other Saturday and Sunday.
