Job description: Position Summary The Outbound Business Development Representative generates new business opportunities through high‑volume outbound prospecting in an office‑based environment, while owning meeting generation and advancing opportunities toward close. This role operates with a high level of autonomy, focused on building pipeline, independently setting meetings, and managing early‑stage opportunities. Representatives may run and convert their own opportunities, with leadership support available for advancing more complex deals. Positioned between entry‑level and senior sales roles, this position is ideal for individuals with outbound experience, strong business acumen, and the ability to take ownership of results. Success requires consistency, confidence in outbound outreach, and the ability to both create and progress opportunities. This is an in‑office role with occasional travel as needed, working as part of the Business Development team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct high-volume outbound prospecting (calls, email, targeted outreach) to generate new business opportunities.
- Identify, qualify, and develop prospects into active opportunities.
- Set and run discovery meetings independently, while aligning leadership support as needed.
- Manage early-stage opportunities and advance them through the sales process.
- Close defined opportunities and contribute to revenue generation.
- Maintain consistent outreach activity including call volume, follow-ups, and engagement.
- Research target accounts and identify key decision makers.
- Communicate the value of the company’s services to open and progress sales conversations.
- Handle objections and guide prospects through early and mid sales stages.
- Build and manage a pipeline of opportunities within the company CRM.
- Identify opportunities for account expansion within active conversations.
- Collaborate with leadership to support deal progression and closing strategy when needed.
- Achieve or exceed KPIs including activity, meetings set, opportunities advanced, and deals closed.
- Travel as needed to support customer meetings or internal alignment.
Required Qualifications:
- 2–4 years of experience in outbound sales, business development, or inside sales
- Demonstrated success in high‑volume outbound prospecting environments
- Strong business acumen with a solid understanding of the sales process
- Experience engaging prospects and advancing opportunities through early and mid‑stage sales cycles
- Ability to lead discovery conversations and close smaller, transactional opportunities
- Strong communication, persuasion, and objection‑handling skills
- Comfortable initiating conversations with prospective customers and key decision‑makers
- Self‑motivated, accountable, and results‑oriented
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Experience with CRM systems (Salesforce, HubSpot, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.) preferred
