About the Role
As an Automotive Quality Metrology Specialist, you will ensure the highest standards of precision in vehicle body production by leveraging advanced measurement technologies. You will play a critical role in validating part accuracy and optimizing assembly processes to support seamless pre-production launches.
Responsibilities-
Utilize portable CMM equipment, including Vectorarm and FARO systems, to verify the precision of body welding tooling and components.

Analyze complex part data using digital engineering platforms like PolyWorks and Catia to drive continuous improvement in manufacturing quality.

Conduct thorough physical inspections of sheet metal sub-assemblies using specialized fixtures and precision hand tools.

Collaborate with engineering teams during pre-production trials to troubleshoot and resolve part-fitting challenges.

Synthesize measurement findings into actionable reports to guide project leadership in refining assembly processes.

Support the integrity of new model launches by performing rigorous first-build quality assessments.
Qualifications

2-5 years of experience in automotive or aerospace quality metrology with a focus on sheet metal.

Proficiency in operating portable CMM hardware, laser trackers, and 3D scanning equipment.

Strong technical competency in 3D comparison software such as PolyWorks, PC-DMIS, or similar platforms.

Demonstrated mechanical aptitude with the ability to adjust and modify part datums using hand tools.

Advanced computer literacy, specifically within the MS Office Suite for documentation and scheduling.

Prior experience with 3D modeling software for design analysis.
