Position Overview: Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) will provide school-based occupational therapy services to support students access to and participation in their educational program. This role involves collaboration with educators, families, and other related service providers to promote student independence and success in the school environment.Key Responsibilities: Intervention & Service Delivery: Review and execute all OT IEP's under the supervision of an OTImplement individualized therapy plans based on IEP goals.Provide direct therapy services in individual, small group, or classroom settings.Support students in areas such as handwriting, self-regulation, attention, organization, and daily living skills.Recommend and implement accommodations, modifications, and assistive technology.Collaboration & Consultation: Collaborate with teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers to integrate strategies into the classroom.Provide consultation to staff on sensory supports, classroom ergonomics, and motor skill development.Communicate regularly with families to support carryover of strategies at home.Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services and progress notesContribute to goal development and progress reporting.Ensure compliance with IDEA, Section 504, and Massachusetts DESE regulations.Professional Development & Supervision: Stay current with best practices and evidence-based interventions in pediatric occupational therapy.OTAs work under the supervision of a licensed OT and follow state guidelines for delegated tasks.Qualifications: For OTA: Associates degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.Current Massachusetts licensure as an OTA.Supervision by a licensed OT as required by state regulations.School-based experience preferred.
