Overview
Krogh & Decker, LLP is a growing civil litigation law firm dedicated to delivering exceptional legal services while fostering a collaborative and supportive workplace. We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable File Clerk to join our administrative team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys organization, thrives in a fast-paced office environment, and is interested in gaining valuable experience in the legal field. As a File Clerk, you will handle data entry, maintain filing systems, and assist with various clerical tasks that keep our organization running efficiently. We value energetic, detail-oriented professionals who thrive in a fast-paced environment and are eager to contribute to our team’s success. This is an in-person position.
Responsibilities
- Organizing and maintaining physical and electronic client files
- Scanning, uploading, and indexing documents into our document management system
- Retrieving and filing records for attorneys and staff
- Preparing new client files and archiving closed matters
- Assisting with mail processing, document copying, printing, and file assembly
- Ensuring records are complete, accurate, and organized
- Supporting attorneys and staff with administrative projects as needed
- Maintaining the confidentiality of client and firm information at all times
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Prior office or administrative experience is strongly preferred
- Comfortable using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, Adobe Pro, and Mac OS
- Strong computer skills with the ability to learn new software quickly
- Accurate typing, proofreading, and data entry skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills over the phone
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism
- Experience answering calls from clients on multi-line phone systems is preferred
- Previous experience in a law office is a plus, but not required
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry files or boxes up to 25 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach throughout the workday
- Ability to operate standard office equipment, including computers, copiers, scanners, and printers
