Medicaid Specialist
Are you experienced in Medicaid eligibility and passionate about helping others navigate complex healthcare processes? We are looking for a highly organized and compassionate Medicaid Specialist to support residents and their families through the Medicaid application process while ensuring compliance, accuracy, and timely reimbursement.

What You'll Be Responsible For
- Guide residents and families through the Medicaid application, renewal, and redetermination process.
- Collect, review, and submit financial and eligibility documentation.
- Track pending applications and communicate with state agencies to help facilitate timely approvals.
- Maintain accurate financial records and Medicaid documentation.
- Collaborate with Admissions, Business Office, Social Services, and facility leadership regarding resident eligibility and payer status.
- Explain Medicaid requirements and available resources in a clear, supportive, and professional manner.
- Research and resolve eligibility concerns, including assisting with appeals when needed.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and organizational regulations.
- Maintain strict confidentiality while providing outstanding customer service.
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience in Medicaid eligibility, healthcare billing, admissions, business office operations, or a related role.
- Experience working in long-term care, skilled nursing, assisted living, or another healthcare environment preferred.
- A strong understanding of Medicaid eligibility guidelines and reimbursement processes.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic healthcare record systems.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in healthcare administration, business, or a related field is a plus.
