Duties
- Operate commercial dishwashing machines and manually wash dishes, pots, pans, and utensils to ensure cleanliness and sanitation.
- Follow food safety sanitizing procedures rigorously to prevent contamination and uphold health standards.
- Assist with food handling and basic food preparation tasks as needed, supporting the kitchen team in meal service.
- Maintain a clean and organized dishwashing area, including sinks, counters, and storage spaces.
- Support bussing duties by clearing tables, transporting used dishes to the kitchen, and ensuring dining areas remain tidy.
- Handle heavy lifting of large pots, trays, and bulk supplies safely using proper manual handling techniques.
- Adhere to all food safety management protocols and sanitation guidelines to ensure compliance with health regulations.
Requirements
- Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is key!
- Knowledge of food safety standards and sanitizing procedures is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely, including lifting heavy items regularly.
- Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and hygiene practices in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude toward supporting culinary operations.
- Basic knife skills or familiarity with food handling are a plus but not mandatory.
- Availability to work flexible shifts including evenings, weekends, or catering events such as banquets.
