Overview
Seeking Mechanical Design Engineer. The role involves the design of products and tooling that is consistent with steel fabrication and welding processes and methods.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Identify and resolve issues with current products and manufacturing processes.
- Establish and maintain quality documentation for new and existing programs.
- Coordinate with launch of new/revised products.
- Provide input to product design based on manufacturing principles.
- Conduct cost-benefit analysis for process improvement.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives across departments.
- Create and maintain layouts of manufacturing spaces
- Train team members in technical skills.
- Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering with 5 years minimum mechanical design engineering experience.
- Proficient use of Solid Works in Design experience
- Proficiency in reading, interpreting, and creating technical documents.
- Experience with 3D and 2D CAD software.
- Global Shop experience a plus.
- Fabrication experience a plus (Robotic welding, press brakes, laser cutting).
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience reading drawings
- Strong Troubleshooting skills and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with project management and product launches.
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Quick learner with proficiency in computer skills; MS Office and Excel.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
