Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Identity and Application Specialist to join our team with primary responsibility for the administration, configuration, support, and identity management of enterprise applications — with a strong emphasis on Workday (HCM, Finance, and related modules). This role combines hands-on application administration with identity and access management (IAM) responsibilities to ensure secure, efficient, and compliant system operations. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented problem-solver who thrives in a collaborative environment and has deep expertise in Workday configuration, security domains, business processes, and user provisioning.
Key Responsibilities
-
Serve as a subject matter expert for Workday application administration, including configuration, maintenance, and optimization of core HCM, Talent, Payroll, Benefits, Compensation, Time Tracking, Absence, and other modules as needed.
-
Manage Workday identity and access management functions: create/maintain security groups, domain security policies, business process security policies, constrained/unconstrained security, user-based security, and intersection security rules.
-
Handle user provisioning, role assignments, access reviews, de-provisioning, and access certifications to ensure least-privilege access and compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements (e.g., SOX, GDPR, data privacy standards).
-
Perform daily/ongoing system administration tasks: monitor system health, apply tenant configurations, manage business processes, troubleshoot incidents, resolve access-related issues, and maintain data integrity.
-
Collaborate with HR, Finance, IT, and business stakeholders to gather requirements, design solutions, configure changes, test functionality (including unit, integration, and user acceptance testing), and deploy updates.
-
Support Workday releases, upgrades, and feature rollouts: review Workday weekly and semi-annual updates, test impacts, coordinate change management, and implement approved enhancements.
-
Develop, maintain, and support custom reports, calculated fields, dashboards, and analytics to meet business needs while ensuring data security and accuracy.
-
Troubleshoot and resolve Tier 2/Tier 3 application and identity-related issues, including root-cause analysis, incident tracking, and proactive prevention of recurring problems.
-
Participate in integrations between Workday and other systems (e.g., SSO providers, identity platforms like Okta/Entra ID, payroll vendors, or third-party tools), focusing on secure authentication and data flow.
-
Document system configurations, processes, procedures, security controls, and knowledge articles to support end-users and maintain audit readiness.
-
Provide training, guidance, and support to end-users, super-users, and junior team members on Workday functionality, security best practices, and self-service capabilities.
-
Contribute to security audits, access reviews, compliance reporting, and risk assessments related to Workday and supported applications.
-
Perform other Data and Application related tasks assigned by the Manager, IT Data Management, consistent with the above specialized duties.
Qualifications & Experience
-
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, Human Resources, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
-
2–3+ years of hands-on experience in application administration, preferably with Workday (HCM and/or Financials).
-
Proven expertise in Workday identity and access management, including security configuration, domain security policies, role-based access control (RBAC), and user provisioning processes.
-
Strong understanding of Workday business processes, calculated fields, condition rules, custom reports, and integrations (e.g., Workday Studio, EIB, connectors).
-
Experience with identity management concepts and tools (e.g., SSO/SAML, federation, multi-factor authentication, access certification campaigns) — Workday-specific experience highly preferred.
-
Familiarity with related technologies such as Active Directory/Entra ID, Okta, SailPoint, or similar IAM platforms is a plus.
-
Solid knowledge of HR, payroll, and/or finance business processes.
-
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills with a proactive mindset.
-
Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
-
Demonstrated ability to manage priorities, work independently, and deliver in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Certifications
-
Workday certifications (e.g., Workday HCM, Security, Integrations, Reporting, or Core Administration).
-
Relevant identity management certifications (e.g., CIAM, Okta, Microsoft Identity-related).
