Hill On Wheels Bike Shop is looking for our next superstar team member. Responsibilities
- Greet customers enthusiastically and intentionally and assess their cycling needs, and recommend suitable bicycles, accessories, and maintenance services.
- Perform basic bicycle repairs, including tire replacement, flat repair, chain replacements, and general accessory installations.
- Conduct routine maintenance work such as brake and shifting adjustments, wheel truing, and assembly of new bicycles.
- Diagnose mechanical issues through symptom-based analysis and execute repairs efficiently to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Manage retail transactions accurately using POS systems and handle retail math for sales processing.
- Assist with bicycle assembly for new inventory and prepare bikes for sale or rental.
- Support maintenance and cleaning tasks related to shop equipment and facilities, ensuring a safe and organized workspace.
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repair procedures, maintenance tips, and cycling advice to enhance the customer experience.
- Handle heavy lifting of bicycles and parts safely while maintaining proper safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a service technician or mechanic with bicycle repair expertise.
- Solid mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in most common groupsets, brake repair, mechanical assembly, and vehicle maintenance.
- Familiarity with symptom-based mechanical diagnosis to identify issues quickly and accurately.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and maintenance work related to bicycles or similar mechanical systems.
- Experience working in retail sales environments with POS systems and retail math skills.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in a busy shop setting.
- Knowledge of cycling products, bicycle components, and MRO (maintenance, repair & operations) practices is highly desirable.
Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
